embarking on a sustainable journey

INTRODUCING THE ‘CONSCIOUS COLLECTION’

CURATED FURNITURE PACKAGES

This ‘Conscious Collection’ has been designed by us, as a part of Britain’s first B Corp™ certified interior design collective. It isn’t labelled the ‘sustainability’ collection for a very good reason. You see we’re not 100% sustainable, and that’s a fact. But we’re on our journey towards a more sustainable design future, and so we’re conscious of our every step.

In partnership with the global real estate developers, Ghelamco, we’ve unveiled the collection within The Arc development, an award-winning gem nestled in the vibrant heart of Shoreditch.

The decision to join forces and install within The Arc was instinctive, as this remarkable building is not only fully electric, but impressively holds triple sustainability certifications – BREEM, WELL and DGNB. With 30% lower carbon emissions than other multi-fuel operated developments, it's hard to not be impressed by the building's cutting-edge technology which you can read more about here.

In 2022, as part of BTR's sustainability commitment, AGC, our parent company, conducted a comprehensive carbon audit covering Scope 1 and 2 emissions. To offset our carbon footprint, AGC invested in Forest Carbon's gold standard re-afforestation projects globally, including Uruguay and Bolivia, and joined the UK-based Carbon Club 50 for tree planting. AGC also set ambitious net-zero emissions goals by 2033, aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative, and emphasised ongoing education and collaboration for Scope 3 emission data collection, demonstrating our dedication to long-term sustainability and climate mitigation through our partnership with Forest Carbon.

Our designers have left no stone unturned in sourcing local suppliers for each furniture piece in the 'Conscious Collection.' Our goal is to redefine the way your property is furnished, ensuring that every item is not just beautiful but built to last. We've achieved this by using durable, high-quality materials that can withstand the demands of everyday use.

From handcrafted and carbon-conscious pieces to those made from non-toxic, organic materials, our commitment to transparency is evident. We've introduced 'Environmental Icons' on all of our products, making it easy for you to understand the eco-friendly choices we've made in their creation.

“We are proud to be the first British interior design collective to join this community of change-makers, alongside a global movement of people using their business as a force for good. B Corp™ is a holistic approach for us. It shapes our culture and encourages us to acknowledge our business impact and act. Most importantly, it gives us a framework for continuous improvement, so that every day, we become a little bit prouder of what we do.”

–      Co-founder & Group Director, Stella Gittins

You may not know, but we partnered with pioneering paint geniuses, COAT Paints, to deck out the walls for our Conscious Collection. COAT share the same values as us, and that’s really important. We’re all about making a positive impact and supporting other game changing B Corp™-certified brands. This is a partnership where two “first British B Corp™-certified” brands of their kind (an interior design collective, and a paint company) have joined forces to make a world of difference, bringing you the most “conscious” collection of furnishings that you can feel good about.

We’ll be revealing more about this collaboration soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

"The team approached the collaboration at The Arc with passion, bringing fresh and creative ideas which married well with the sustainable credentials and focus of the development. The show flat they delivered was a great representation of the vision we shared and dealing with the team throughout the process has been a pleasure."
