DESIGNING THE FUTURE OF LIVING: AGC BTR’S AUTHOR king’s cross project TRANSFORMS BUILD-TO-RENT SPACES
KINGS CROSS WELCOMES THE ULTIMATE BUILD-TO-RENT EXPERIENCE!
In the heart of Kings Cross, a vibrant urban landscape has been undergoing a transformation like never before. Welcome to Author King’s Cross. This is our latest project in collaboration with Related Argent to redefine the concept of urban living in the city of London with the incorporation of sustainable elements.
Author King’s Cross is all about providing an exceptional living experience for its residents. You name it, from a captivating statement entrance lobby, a lush kitchen garden, a private lounge to a state-of-the-art screening room, a spacious gym, a cosy co-working nook, and not to mention a sprawling co-working and lounge space in the central courtyard – Author King’s Cross ensures there's a space for everyone. We have worked with Related Argent, and the interior designers, Conran & Partners to design these meticulously curated amenity spaces, which serve as a true sanctuary, offering a harmonious blend of comfort, functionality, and style.
Stemming from a commitment to tailored design, we created a bespoke approach, seamlessly combining the concept design with our vision for the spaces. Sustainability is at the heart of this endeavour, evident in the integration of key sustainable elements within our collaboration, incorporating eco-friendly practices and materials into the very fabric of the project…
Each piece has been thoughtfully curated to offer flexibility within the amenity spaces, ensuring that residents, whether they are young students, those seeking a pied-à-terre for convenient access to Kings Cross Station, or more corporate tenants, can tailor their surroundings to their specific needs and preferences.
The lobby floor lamp, an artful creation by Dirk Vander Kooij, is constructed from ribbons of recycled plastic, painstakingly layered to craft each lens. The sourcing of materials is equally remarkable, involving elements like rooftop windows, safety glasses, and industrial chocolate moulds.
The Lobby and Post Area side tables take on bold, multifunctional forms inspired by clear-cut shapes, with their pixelated surfaces constructed from 100% recycled household and industrial plastic, designed by Simon Legald. What sets them apart is the unique process of repeatedly reusing and reheating the material at 120°C without altering its properties, resulting in a one-of-a-kind design.
BRITAIN’S FIRST B CORP CERTIFIED INTERIOR DESIGN COLLECTIVE
At AGC BTR, we are proud to be part of Accouter Group of Companies, Britain's first B Corp certified interior design collective. Our sustainable ethos is also shown through our recently launched Conscious Collection in collaboration with Ghelamco and COAT paints. It isn’t labelled the ‘sustainability’ collection for a very good reason. You see we’re not 100% sustainable, and that’s a fact. But we’re on our journey towards a more sustainable design future, and so we’re conscious of our every step.
